Better late than never Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?
Finally able to do some crafting Sunday since I’ve slacked off on the old blog and chain the last couple of weeks. I added the stencil to Kenna’s Sunshine wall art and added her name to her cups finally =)

On a different and more professional note and to make up for my lack of FPF’s, we got Kenna’s pictures done a couple of weeks ago and LOVE them! She’s such a ham but we couldn’t get her to smile at the camera at all. She would definitely look at Melody, the photographer, but no cute, toothy smile UNTIL we played Adam Levine’s “Moves Like Jagger” song, lol. She loves all music from Adam Levine to Casting Crowns to the Backyardigans theme song. I think she’s going to love a wide variety of music like her momma =) The pic below was mid-dancing around to the song =)

She’s giving us so many wonderful memories to share. We’re so blessed.
But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:19

Yeap, that would be Kenna's sock monkey Easter basket on her head. She uses it for a hat, a basket/purse, a projectile, a chair that she calls "potty," a pillow, anything you can think of, that's what she uses it for, lol. Definitely glad that we put the plain jane wicker basket back that I was going to decorate and got her this monkey basket =) She has played with it daily since Easter! She is a silly monkey and is our little blessing.

Starting to see more of me in Kenna! She's finally stopped eating--yes, I said eating, lol--her books! She wants to sit down and read =) Believe me when I tell you I was starting to become a tad flummoxed that a library worker's child would rather eat the books than read them ;) Trav was talking to her last night while they were reading her farm book and commented on what a "vocabulary" she has. Kenna said. "YES! Ca-boo-lary!"

I have definitely seen God's fingerprints in our lives this past week. First, Sunday morning a lady ran off the road, hit my granny's house, then crashed into the brick wall that separates my granny and a subdivision. My granny was in the house when it happened. She is okay but horribly shaken up, if you can imagine. Prayers for the lady who crashed. It is still unknown what exactly happened and why she crashed but she is still in critical condition. Prayers also for my granny who has extensive damage to the foundation of her home primarily in one corner of her home but still lots of stability lost that the insurance agents are looking into.

THEN! Same granny now! On Sunday evening, my daddy called worried about her because the weather was getting bad. After browsing Facebook, I started seeing all my high school friends talking about tornadoes touching down in the area. Things went from being just worried to frantic. Reports were showing that a tornado touched down at LegoLand, a mere 2 miles from granny. After calling my dad back and telling him this, he decided to go check on her. So then I was worried about both of them. About 30 minutes later, daddy called me back. He was crying and I couldn't understand him! My dad is NOT a cryer, so I was paralyzed with fear. Daddy never made it to my granny's because the weather became inclement in his area but he finally got a hold of her and she was okay. A tornado did come through though and she lost all her shingles, lots of leaks. The pic below is a tornado right down the road from her. To hear my granny tell me later that night when she regained power how she heard it and ran to the closet still gives me chills. Just a horrible situation. My granny (and daddy too) have already lost their homes once to Hurricane Charlie back in 04-05.

In the meantime, as Tropical Storm Debby moves away from central FL, it starts coming our way to North Florida.

Sunday and Monday it rained...and rained...and rained...
I was walking out the door Tuesday to head to work and I got the call that we were closed.
This is why...

The pic below is from my mom's car. It's a pic of the road she lives on!

I live about 30 miles from where I work and where my mom lives so luckily, we did not get any flooding in our area but flooding starts about 10 miles down the road. It's so surreal to think this happened pretty much overnight. Monday things are fine. Tuesday morning things have changed. So many families have lost their homes, then they try driving and lose their cars. Prayers are definitely needed for my whole community. The water is already starting to recede but now the river is rising so there are more worries coming. And sinkholes popping up everywhere! I know the Lord is watching though and looking out for us. We just have to have faith in him to help us get through this and make us stronger because of it.

Also prayers are needed for Colorado residents who are also going through extremes with fire. Such devastation in our states right now.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

It's the simple things in life that are so enjoyable. So giddy and happy over a John Deere balloon from daddy's work =) She cackled hysterically as the secretary blew it up very slowly with the last of the helium! Just puts a smile on my face to know there are so many things she hasn't discovered and I hope she throughly enjoys discovering them as she enjoyed discovering balloons.

My hubby’s been gone for a whole week to school in Northwest Mississippi for John Deere training. He’s never been gone this long away from Kenna and she’s very insistent when we get home that daddy’s somewhere around. He comes home today all schooled up with knowledge and then we’re headed down South to see my daddy and granny for the weekend. I am SO excited to see them! It’s Father’s Day weekend and my daddy’s birthday tomorrow too!

Loving her facial expression!

In the meantime, Kenna and I hit her doctor up because she had a cough in the mornings. Turns out the cough was contributed to an ear infection in one ear and, in a day’s time, the other ear would have been infected as well!!! I had no idea! But we did see that her molars had come in and she was getting teeth between her molars and eye teeth and those are the ones that cause issues like ear infections. Ugghhh. My boor KennaBoo. So she’s been on antibiotics, feeling perkier already, and we’re ready to head to South Florida this afternoon =)

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3 John 1:2

The Lord sure is blessing us with rain this week! The hay fields sure need it but no so much for the watermelon farmer.

Even with Tropical Storm Beryl and all the rain though, our area is still being monitored as a severe/extreme drought situation. Hopefully, this will change soon. Our Suwannee River needs to come up some more =) I know He’s looking out for us though!

The rain has Kenna mesmerized too! She’ll just stare at it falling on the car while we’re driving to the sitter’s in the morning but she perks up with a little tickle to the feet =)

I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. Amos 4:7 NIV

Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5:18 NIV

My little turkey, KennaBoo, is going to give me a heart attack one day, I’m sure of it, lol. It’s hard to believe my fragile 2 pounder is now invincible! Not a day goes by that I am not blessed to have her orneriness, stubborness, bravery, and so much more =) She’s just so awesome!

You see the fingerprints of God in everything! Everywhere! This week I seen them not only on my beloved family but the fruits that we bear or in this case, the peppers and taters =)

Here’s my KennaBoo checking out the potatoes!

This weekend I was overcome by emotion that my Kenna has gotten the chance to meet her great grandfather (papaw). There are so many children I know that don’t get this chance. It makes my heart smile to see her love him as much as I do and hear her little voice repeat “PApaw” over and over.

I wish she could have met my paternal grandfather. I know he would have been smitten as well. He’s only been gone a few years but remembered daily.

I see God’s fingerprints all over my 20-month little girl. After being married for a few years, we started trying to get pregnant. Years later, I made my first trip to see a fertility specialist who pretty much told me I was overweight. I was baffled. Bigger women than me had children. I wasn’t that big, was I?

After deep thought, my husband and I decided to forego the fertility specialist. If God wanted us to have a baby, he would let us know when the time was right. If we never had children, we had plenty of nieces and nephews to spoil. Six months later, we started debating on where to go on vacation and I started getting sick. People were constantly asking if I could be pregnant and I said no. Well, I was. The moment I found out, I just cried. Shock, happiness, fear, so many emotions. I called my husband. I called my work and told my coworker, Amy, all the while just crying away.

The longer the pregnancy, the more problems surfaced. Extreme swelling, possible gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, monitoring and more monitoring. I was admitted in to the hospital just shy of 33 weeks for them to tell me I would probably be in the hospital until my due date so they could stabilize my blood pressure and whatnot. Two days later, Kenna came into the world at 2 lbs. 11 oz.

I woke up from anesthesia scared and not feeling like anything had happened. Not understanding why my pregnancy had to be so hard when I don’t drink or smoke. When all I ever wanted was a baby and hoping she was a strong fighter—and she was. Still is.

Twenty-three days of NICU, we were going home at 3 lbs. 14 oz. and she was the tiniest, sweetest little thing in the whole wide world. Still is.
