The day after…

Happy belated Valentine’s day, everyone! I hope it was a day filled with love and fun =) I wrote here about creative ideas for the man who has everything and/or you live in a household that does NOT need any candy because the wife will eat more than the intended (yeap, that’s me, lol)

Anywho, I seen bad boy while perusing the Internet from Mom of All Trades! Isn’t it a beaut. She did a fabulous job!

I had to try my hand at it so I enlisted my mother-in-law’s help and we came up with a gift that Trav was in love with!

We were heading out the driveway this morning and he said, “Shoot, I forgot to pick something off my bouquet!” =)

Valentine’s ideas for the men in your life…

I’m always grasping at ideas on what to get Mr. LCH for Valentine’s Day. I used to go WAAAAYYYY OUT and make him a huge basket of all sorts of candy, chocolate, and what not but that was before we were married so it wasn’t in my house on the bar waiting to be eaten by ME. So, with the help of Pinterest (isn’t she great?), I’ve found some interesting gift-giving ideas…

This fits my Mr. to a tee, lol

New paint tool!

While perusing Pinterest, I came across It’s Great To Be Home’s review about Sherwin-William’s new online paint helper, Chip It! I have seen other sites somewhat similar to this but not one that ever gave me exact colors of a brand. So, needless to say, this is something I’ve been needing. I have a Kitchen board on Pinterest and most of the kitchens have the same feel, same colors, etc., but it would be nice to find out what paint color they used. Okay, here goes…

I picked this pretty kitchen pic from my board. It’s from Grace Happens! You should check out their before and after. Very pretty =)

So I entered my url in the paint tool…

It then asks me to select an image…

And VOILA, I got this…

I clicked on “More Colors” and got some additional chips…

I don’t like ALL the colors represented here but the cooled blue, fashionable gray, and extra white make me happy =)

Isn’t this the coolest ever. I’m probably late in the game with my discovery but I like it!

Etsy-pa-looza

I got a Kindle Fire form my wonderful hubs this Christmas. Could have knocked me over with a feather when I tore into my present a couple of days before Christmas (yes, I said a couple days before, lol. Mr. LCH was just too excited to wait). It hasn't been quite a month yet since I received it and I definitely know that I need to not only buy some screen protectors but I want a cute little case too =)
Enter the wonderful, talented people of Etsy =) NewImage

My current project…ignore the mess...

This is what I've been up to lately…
IMG 3594wm edited 1 Let's just say that it's a working progress recovering a carseat…but the tutorial from Make It & Love It is awesome =) Now I really need to finish it, lol, so we can stop lugging carseats from car to car.

My goodies!

I've unfortunately had these thrift store finds since the end of November but I have my plans for them. I have started to make some things a couple of times but now with a new house possibly looming in our future, I don't want to paint them my current color scheme.

Here are my goodies and my intentions for each.

I want to paint the base of this covered plate/cloche. I love it and can't wait to put little decorative holiday things in it. IMG 3591wm edited 1
I want to repaint this and maybe do something with vinyl and our last name.IMG 3592wm edited 1
A chalkboard! Woot woot!IMG 3593wm edited 1
Got these packages of collapsible boxes with the Oriental Trading tags still affixed for $1.00 a piece!IMG 3596wm edited 1
Whew, now if I can purchase some motivation ;)

Dreaming of kitchens

Oh, man, at the thought of my little family possibly purchasing our first house, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. That means that in addition to a rowdy one year old, I am completely exhausted. My mind was already running a hundred miles per hour. Now, after Kenna goes to bed and I read my blogs, browse Pinterest, my mind's running overtime thinking of the possibilities. Because the house we're looking at has no windows in the kitchen, I'm thinking of painting the cabinets white to lighten things up some. So Pinterest has lent me some fabulous inspirations when it comes to cabinets, hardware, lighting, and paint for the walls. So today, I'm going to share some of my fave Pinterest kitchen cabinet finds. Bear with me, lol.

I love the white cabinets here and the softs touches of blue! It would be eye catching to bring in some bright teal blue with the kitchen chairs!

Once again, I love everything about this kitchen, especially the butcher block counter tops! And Ikea has some nice, affordable ones!

More pops of color. I like the green, a nice mustard yellow, or a pumpkin color, a variation of Pantone's color of the year =)

This is soooo pretty. I'm somewhat nervous about the open shelf concept but I'd be comfortable with something like this or a pretty hutch. And I love the clear canisters on the counter =)

Look at the warehouse lights! And the soft shade of the chairs. I'm hoping to find a thrifted table to refurb.

Until next time =)
