Etsy-pa-looza

I got a Kindle Fire form my wonderful hubs this Christmas. Could have knocked me over with a feather when I tore into my present a couple of days before Christmas (yes, I said a couple days before, lol. Mr. LCH was just too excited to wait). It hasn't been quite a month yet since I received it and I definitely know that I need to not only buy some screen protectors but I want a cute little case too =)

My current project…ignore the mess...

This is what I've been up to lately…
IMG 3594wm edited 1 Let's just say that it's a working progress recovering a carseat…but the tutorial from Make It & Love It is awesome =) Now I really need to finish it, lol, so we can stop lugging carseats from car to car.

My goodies!

I've unfortunately had these thrift store finds since the end of November but I have my plans for them. I have started to make some things a couple of times but now with a new house possibly looming in our future, I don't want to paint them my current color scheme.

Here are my goodies and my intentions for each.

I want to paint the base of this covered plate/cloche. I love it and can't wait to put little decorative holiday things in it. IMG 3591wm edited 1
I want to repaint this and maybe do something with vinyl and our last name.IMG 3592wm edited 1
A chalkboard! Woot woot!IMG 3593wm edited 1
Got these packages of collapsible boxes with the Oriental Trading tags still affixed for $1.00 a piece!IMG 3596wm edited 1
Whew, now if I can purchase some motivation ;)

Dreaming of kitchens

Oh, man, at the thought of my little family possibly purchasing our first house, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. That means that in addition to a rowdy one year old, I am completely exhausted. My mind was already running a hundred miles per hour. Now, after Kenna goes to bed and I read my blogs, browse Pinterest, my mind's running overtime thinking of the possibilities. Because the house we're looking at has no windows in the kitchen, I'm thinking of painting the cabinets white to lighten things up some. So Pinterest has lent me some fabulous inspirations when it comes to cabinets, hardware, lighting, and paint for the walls. So today, I'm going to share some of my fave Pinterest kitchen cabinet finds. Bear with me, lol.

I love the white cabinets here and the softs touches of blue! It would be eye catching to bring in some bright teal blue with the kitchen chairs!

Once again, I love everything about this kitchen, especially the butcher block counter tops! And Ikea has some nice, affordable ones!

More pops of color. I like the green, a nice mustard yellow, or a pumpkin color, a variation of Pantone's color of the year =)

This is soooo pretty. I'm somewhat nervous about the open shelf concept but I'd be comfortable with something like this or a pretty hutch. And I love the clear canisters on the counter =)

Look at the warehouse lights! And the soft shade of the chairs. I'm hoping to find a thrifted table to refurb.

Until next time =)

Happy 2012!

After crashing at 11:35 last night (we just couldn't go another 25 minutes, lol), I realized that this is the first time we've been home for a New Year's Eve holiday in awhile! We normally go down South to celebrate post-Christmas holidays with my granny and daddy. But sadly, not his year. My granny lives in the middle of the city and right down the road from the new LegoLand and you'll hear fireworks for hours before and after midnight. Last night, we heard absolutely nothing…but crickets. Well, and the donkeys in the pasture but they're more of a nuisance, lol. Just makes me realize how nice it is to live in the peaceful rural areas rather than the congestion of central Florida. Anywho, with the new year here, there is many things that I have on my to do list! My most exciting news is that we're trying to purchase our first home and although I'm trying not to get my hopes up, my Pinterest boards are reflecting otherwise. I have big plans for the kitchen =)

I have plans for some Kenna crafts! Especially for this highchair! Kenna has a tall one that's been painted a soft sage green and this would be a great project for my sander my granny sent me!

I am in the progress of finishing a cover for Kenna's big girl carseat. And I have really been wanting to get it finished but man, it has taken me forever with all life's interruptions. Let me tell you, though, having two carseats for each car is the way to go. It is such a pain to have to switch out all the time from car to car.

I absolutely love these for Kenna! They'd be nifty if they were magnets for the refrigerator too!

Welp, that's where my mind has been this weekend. A new home hopefully and my little munchkin, of course. I hope all had a wonderful, safe new year's eve and hope and likewise for a brand new year!
